Research
 Adam was born in St. Paul, MN. As an undergraduate, Adam attended Gustavus Adolphus College, where he obtained his B.A. in chemistry. During his time there, he worked on heterocyclic ring formation chemistry with Dr. Scott Bur, as well as studying a novel biomarker for Lupus at the University of Minnesota under Dr. Timothy Behrens. Adam moved to the University of Illinois in 2006, where he is currently obtaining his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry as well as an M.D. as part of the Medical Scholars Program. He is currently working on the synthesis of chimeric molecules for restoration of proper alternative splicing.
Outside of lab, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, watching movies, cheering for Illini basketball, and running.
