Research
Divina was born in the Philippines. As an undergraduate, Divina attended Mindanao State University, where she obtained her B.S. in chemistry. After spending several years as a science teacher, she obtained her M.A. in teaching from the University of Immaculate Conception in 2002. She went to Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 2004, moving with Prof. Baranger to the University of Illinois in 2006, to obtain her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology.
Outside of lab, Divina enjoys nature trips, playing badminton, watching movies, singing karaoke, swing dancing, and reading suspense novels.
