On September 13 and 14, 2002, a celebration was held in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the opening of Noyes Laboratory. Over 200 alumni and friends of the Departments of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Engineering participated in the weekend's events. Noyes Lab was designated as a National Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society, a "SRoster of Noyes Lab" was unveiled recognizing all students who have received UIUC degrees in the three departments since 1902, and talks about the history of chemical sciences at Illinois were given by Nelson Leonard, Rudy Marcus, former Shell CEO Steve Miller, and the historian Sharon McGrayne. Images of the event can be found by clicking here. More will be added at a later date.

Alumni wishing to relate their rememberances for publication here, may use the Alumni Reminiscences Form.
