Dr. Nancy Good

I was at Illinois in chemistry from Fall 1973-Spring 1981 (gathering up 3 degrees) and spent a LOT of time in Noyes Lab. One of my least successful efforts was the organic lab qualitative analysis: after extraction and distillation, there was... nothing left!! However, the flask smelled like bananas, so ethyl acetate was my (correct) guess. It helped that that had been my unknown in general chem, and that I worked in the unknown stockroom in Chem Annex. For grad school, I shifted over to Roger Adams Lab in Analytical, but took another course or two in Noyes Lab. Some thought that No-Yes Lab ought to be a Philosophy building, or perhaps Law.
