I am delighted to learn of the Noyes Laboratory Centennial and hope to be able to visit Urbana during that weekend. My most vivid memory of the laboratory itself was the day I was attending an afternoon Organic Chemistry lab session in Noyes and learning that President Kennedy had been shot. The event had a profound affect on the campus that year. I will always be gratefull for the fine education I received from the University. Although I did not pursue an academic career in chemistry (... I was afraid my advisor was going to kill me when I announced I would be entering the U of I MBA program instead), the education I received in the Dept. prepared me well for a long and sucessful career as a senior executive in the U.S. chemical industry. Thanks for the memories. Steve Kimmel V.P. (retired) Akzo Nobel B.S. Chemistry '66 M.B.A. '68
