- The Committee on Institutional Cooperation is a consortium of 12 research universities, including the 11 members of the Big Ten Conference and the University of Chicago. Members of the CIC Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) group aim to share best practices intended to assist each individual WISE program on CIC university campuses achieve their goals of increasing the number of women pursuing STEM degrees, and supporting women in the STEM faculty ranks.

The mission of the WISE Directory is to assist colleges, universities and other potential employers in the recruitment of highly educated women in the sciences, engineering and mathematics. Women can be included in the directory if the are Ph.D. candidates and pursuing degrees in the sciences, engineering or mathematics at one of the Big Ten universities or the University of Chicago. - Office of Women's Programs
