The J. C. Martin Memorial Fund
The J. C. Martin Memorial Fund was created to support graduate students by awarding them travel grants to allow attendance at professional meetings.
This fund was established in 1999 to honor Professor James Cullen Martin, who served on the Chemistry faculty at the University of Illinois from 1956 till his retirement in 1985. As an organic chemistry professor, J.C. Martin served on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Organic Chemistry in 1972 and on the executive committee of organic chemistry for the American Chemical Society from 1971-1973.
