The Zumdahl Teaching of Chemistry Fund
The Zumdahl Teaching of Chemistry Award is being established with contributions from former students and friends of Steven Zumdahl. The merit-based award will be presented each spring to an undergraduate in their second semester sophomore or junior year in the Teaching of Chemistry curriculum. The student must be admitted to the education certification program at the University of Illinois.
Steven S. Zumdahl received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Wheaton College (Illinois) in 1964 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois (Urbana) in 1968. He taught at the University of Illinois for over 35 years, where he served as a Professor and Associate Head of Chemistry and Director of the General Chemistry Program.
