Rienstra Wins the 2007 Sloan Fellowship
Professor Chad Rienstra of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois was recently awarded a 2007 Sloan Fellowship. This award is intended to enhance the careers of the very best young faculty members in specified fields of science. This fellowship is awarded annually in seven fields: chemistry, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics. Rienstra was recognized for his broad-based program to develop solid-state NMR spectroscopy (SSNMR) as a tool for the structure determination of large biomolecules and biomolecular assemblies.
