Admission Requirements and Procedures
Admission Requirements
For admission to graduate study in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at
University of Illinois a B.S. degree with a minimum
grade average of B is required. Note however, that students accepted
in our program typically have an average much higher than a B. Outstanding
students with degrees in areas other than Chemical and Biomolecular
Engineering (including Chemistry, Materials Science, Bioengineering,
and Computer Science) are also very much welcome to apply. Such students
may be required to take a few additional courses, as determined by
the graduate program committee, in order to help them prepare for
the qualifying exam (students in the Ph.D. program) or for the bioinformatics
core courses (students in the M.S. in Bioinformatics program).
