A limited number of merit-based award/scholarships are annually given, by the department, to the undergraduates for their scholastic achievements and activities at the University of Illinois. These alumni and corporate awards are given based on GPA, class rank, and leadership accomplishments. These awards are given in the spring semester of students' freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Students do not apply for these awards. Instead, the Awards Committee nominates them. The Awards Committee contacts students to ask them to fill out an application for the award. Contact Marina Miletic (), the Head of the Awards Committee for more information.
