Biography
I graduated from the College of Charleston with bachelors
degrees in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry.
Throughout my undergraduate education I worked on the total
synthesis of Cytosporone E in the laboratories of Professor
Justin K. Wyatt.
Upon graduation I immediately joined the University of Illinois
and the Denmark research group. My project involves the synthesis
of a series of quaternary ammonium salts to be used as phase
tranfer catalysts. Since the tandem [4+2]/[3+2] nitroalkene
cycloaddition developed in these laboratories will tolerate
a wide variety of substituents at nearly any position and
stereoselective methods have been developed, I am using it
to construct the core skeleton.
In my free time I enjoy movies, video games and camping.
