Biography
I am originally from Sacramento, California, but much of my life has been spent in Idaho. I graduated from Boise State University in June 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in chemistry, where I carried out research in the laboratories of Don Warner.
My Ph.D. research is currently focused on catalyst design for the Lewis base activated asymmetric aldol chemistry, which our group has been pursuing for some years now. Specifically I am investigating what role bulky alkyl substituents and the bite angle of the catalyst have on the stereochemical outcome of the reaction.
Although research and graduate school occupy much of my life, I still find time to play on my road bike and attend concerts, movies, etc.
