Biography

I entered Tallinn University of Technology with the dream to became a food technology engineer, but eventually I found myself in the world of organic synthesis. To obtain my Master’s degree I studied the synthesis of bioactive amines in cooperation with pharmaceutical company ASTRA under the supervision of Dr. Ivar Martin. For my Ph. D. I joined Prof. Margus Lopp group and my thesis was focused on the synthesis of intermediates of antiproliferative and cytotoxic 9,11-secosterols. During my doctoral studies I worked in the group of Prof. Alexandre Alexakis, studying the use of bipyrrolidine as a chiral auxiliary. Beginning September 2008 I joined Prof. Scott Denmark’s research group as a Fulbright Scholar.
