for Employers
Thank you for your interest in University of Illinois School of Chemical
Sciences talent. The School of Chemical Sciences (SCS) Career Counseling
and Placement Services (CCPS) Office provides career management services
and resources to undergraduate and graduate students in the Department
of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the Department of Chemistry.
The best way to reach Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Chemistry students is through our online job system, SCS
Symplicity. Registration and job posting services on the system are available at no cost. You may also schedule on-campus recruiting and review student résumés through the system.
New users of SCS
Symplicity need to click the register button and complete an
online profile. A registered user may access the system by entering
their username and password.

hours are 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Office hours
during the recruiting season are 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m.

Ph.D. Recruiting
Ph.D. and Postdoctoral candidates who are approximately within
one year of completing their work are available for interviews.
Pre-selection and interviewing procedures for Ph.D. candidates
are handled in the same manner as B.S. and M.S. candidates.
Summer Employment
Many chemical and biomolecular engineering and chemistry students
are interested in summer employment or internships. Most
companies interview students for summer positions during
their regularly scheduled campus visit. Log in to

Cooperative Education
Our Cooperative Education program provides you with a unique
opportunity to work with outstanding students. More importantly,
you get an inside track to hiring your engineers and chemists.
Co-op students are also cost-effective employees who are
ideal for special projects or seasonal work. A minimum of
three (3) work terms is required for a student to fulfill
co-op certification. Contact our office if you wish more
