"Time is no friend, it will not slow things down that
are moving. Where it has given hours, days, years, it
will not yield moments. Where it has given moments
so freely and with abundances, it now gives eternity."

Albert French

Pia is physically gone. Friends talk about her strong presence. We all feel her spiritual presence, but in our pain we lose touch with that physical magnetism she held. We want to see the flash of her smile ignite the room. We want to feel the silence that subsided after Pia walked by us. We want to feed off her zest for life. The contrast between her physical magnetism and her spiritual magnetism is so different for us. Time will only make her spirit stronger, time will only heal the pain that weighs us down, hour by hour, minute by minute. Time has given us an eternity to relate with Pia in new way.

Pia is spiritually present. I can hear her ask me questions about my work, and I can see her scrupulously preparing a suitcase for vacations--each shirt and sock ironed and folded. When I look at her photo albums I can remember how she was always behind the camera. She wanted to capture every gesture and every smile of her family and friends. I can even feel her sense of purpose, ambition, and focus she had for her life. I can feel this all around me. I am happy that she left such a strong impression, because I'll feel her more and miss her less.

Pia, thank you for your beautiful family and for being the unique person you are.
